Sheffield United manager Gary Speed is banking on latest loan signing Andy Reid igniting the Blades' season.
The 28-year-old Republic of Ireland international, on his way back from a hamstring injury, signed on Friday until the end of November in time to make the bench for the 1-0 defeat to Coventry at Bramall Lane.
Speed, whose side have slipped to 18th place in the table, said: "Reid is a creative player and that's what we have been missing and why he has been brought in.
"He provided that spark, but we weren't able to make anything of it.
"He signed too late too be involved in the team from the start because our preparation had already been done."
