Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini is only waiting to learn the final details of his contract extension at Stadio Delle Alpi but his agent is less optimistic.
The Italy star has been involved in discussions with his club for several weeks and the Serie A outfit announced in September that a deal was close.
Chiellini has still to sign improved terms to those which currently tie him to Juventus until 2013 but he has implied that the situation is on the verge of being resolved.
He told La Gazzetta dello Sport when asked about his future: "There is an agreement between us for the renewal (of the contract), but it is not official."
But Chiellini's agent, Davide Lippi, is slightly pessimistic and claims that there are no meetings scheduled with Juventus, although they could get together next week.
Lippi told calciomercato.it: "There is no news regarding the renewal and there is still a lack of fine details.
"It remains as the same situation as a few weeks ago. There are no meetings scheduled anytime soon with Juventus.
"But I think we will soon see, probably next week."
