Millers closer to Alfie deal

Rotherham are hoping to tie up new deals for Adam Le Fondre and Ryan Taylor in the next couple of weeks.

The Millers opened talks with the strike duo some time ago, but nothing has yet to be agreed or signed. Chairman Tony Stewart and manager Ronnie Moore will be especially keen to resolve Le Fondre's future, as although he still has 18 months to run on his current deal, his incessant goalscoring form is likely to attract interest from higher-placed clubs in the January transfer window. Taylor, who has yet to make a start this season following a metatarsal injury, has until the end of the season to run on his deal, but Stewart is confident both men will sign on the dotted line in the near future. "Talks are going smoothly and we don't see any problems. Ryan and Adam both want what we want," Stewart told the Star. "We have had one or two meetings so far and I have not heard anything that is going to make my eardrum buzz. The best deals always take a bit longer. I would like to think that we would be able to tie them up in the next couple of weeks."
