Defender brought in to cover for injured McEveley

Barnsley have snapped up Wolves defender Matt Hill on an emergency one-month loan deal. Tykes boss Mark Robins moved for Hill after losing Jay McEveley to a knee injury in Tuesday's defeat to Burnley. McEveley faces an extended spell on the sidelines and Hill will help fill the void at left-back. Hill has found himself out of picture at Wolves and the former Preston man is not even in Mick McCarthy's 25-man Premier League squad. Robins is delighted to bring in Hill with the defender set to go straight into the squad for this weekend's game against Coventry. "Matt is an experienced Championship defender and that is what we need at the moment following Jay McEveley's injury," Robins told the club's official website. "I am delighted to have brought him to the club."
