Midfielder Stephen McPhail has agreed a new deal with Cardiff which is set to keep him at the club until 2013.
The 30-year-old, a former Republic of Ireland international, is expected to put pen to paper on the new agreement in the coming days.
Ex-Leeds man McPhail, who recently won a battle with cancer, arrived at the Bluebirds from Barnsley in 2006.
He is poised to follow in the footsteps of Darcy Blake, Kevin McNaughton and Peter Whittingham, who have all recently signed new contracts.
