The 25-year-old Mali international has been linked with a move away from Juve, having signed for the Turin outfit in 2008 from Liverpool.

Sissoko's agent Nicola Pecini feels the combative tough tackler would fit in well at San Paolo, and admits he might be open to a transfer.

"My client is a major player and has the characteristics of midfielder who Napoli are looking for," he told Radio Crc.

"There has still been no contact. No player can afford to snub Napoli, they are a team which is working very well and the place lends itself to the characteristics of Sissoko.

"Initially Sissoko may be on loan and then they could keep him. He has international experience and could be a really helpful player for Napoli."

Premier League

Pecini revealed that Sissoko still has an ambition to return to England, while AC Milan and Inter are two clubs that also interest him.

He added: "A major obstacle may come from abroad, he'd love to play in the Premier League, but he wants to prove something in Italy: Milan, Inter and Napoli are the only clubs that can support an operation for a player as important as Sissoko.

"We respect the duties of the player who is now at Juventus, he now wants to do well there, so it is still premature to establish contacts.

"If the club intends to put him on the market we'll evaluate the situation, but if they don't want to sell, it's useless to make considerations."
