Gers ace available after recovering from hip injury

Rangers midfielder Lee McCulloch has declared himself ready and willing to play for Scotland against Spain in their Euro 2012 qualifier. Scotland boss Craig Levein delayed the naming of his team for the clash against the World Cup winners to further assess injury doubts McCulloch and Alan Hutton. While Hutton remains a huge doubt and is set to be replaced by Sunderland's Phil Bardsley, McCulloch has declared himself fit; a move that comes as a huge boost to Levein. Scotland slipped to a 1-0 defeat to Czech Republic last Friday and McCulloch's availability means Levein has one more midfield option for the mouth-watering Hampden Park contest. "It's up to the manager whether or not I play against Spain, but I've successfully come through the last couple of training sessions," he told the Evening Times. "Every player will tell you that, on occasion, you play through niggles and knocks and get on with it. I am ready to go, if needed."
