Scotland will be without Celtic star Scott Brown for their Euro 2012 qualifier against Czech Republic due to an ankle injury.
The Celtic skipper was in contention for a key holding role in Friday night's showdown with the likes of Lee McCulloch, Kevin Thomson and Paul Hartley all unavailable.
Brown was one of a few players who could have been utilised in a defensive midfield option against the Czechs, but head coach Craig Levein is now without the Bhoys ace.
The former Hibs man has been struggling for full fitness since the start of last season when he went under the knife for botched surgery.
A second op midway through the campaign also failed to clear up the problem properly and Brown has been playing through the pain barrier since.
Brown remains hopeful he will be fit enough to face World Cup winners and European champions Spain next Tuesday as Scotland continue their quest for Poland and Ukraine.
