Nottingham Forest forward Robert Earnshaw has withdrawn from the Wales squad for this month's Euro 2012 qualifiers.
Wales take on Bulgaria at Cardiff City Stadium on Friday before travelling to Switzerland the following Tuesday.
But they will have to do without the 29-year-old as he has missed his club's last three games with a thigh injury and will not link-up with his international team-mates.
Earnshaw has netted 14 goals in 51 games for Wales but caretaker manager Brian Flynn will now have to do without him for the qualifying matches.
Flynn has called up Southampton forward Ryan Doble, 19, as Earnshaw's replacement.
Flynn handed Doble his first cap for the national Under-21 side against Austria last term.
The Earnshaw withdrawal is just the latest blow for Wales as they will already be without captain Craig Bellamy for the forthcoming fixtures due to injury.
Bellamy has been troubled by a knee problem in recent weeks but returned to action for Cardiff at the weekend and scored in the win at Barnsley.
