Free agent defender Danny Shittu has confirmed he is ready to return to football following a short break from the game.
The Nigeria international is on the lookout for a new club after securing his release from Bolton earlier last month.
Shittu started all three of the Super Eagles' World Cup matches in South Africa this summer, although he was unable to help his country progress beyond the group stage of the tournament.
The 30-year-old has been keeping himself fit and is biding his time before joining a new club as he is keen to make the right choice after failing to secure regular first-team football at the Reebok.
Ready to return
"I've just been keeping fit and enjoying my time off," Shittu told Sky Sports News. "I'm looking forward now.
"I've been speaking to a few people. I will definitely get back into football soon. It's been an experience.
"Owen Coyle knows that I've always wanted to play football. To be fair he's a great man and he's come in and done a lot for Bolton.
"He knows that I was knocking on his door saying that 'I want to play football' because I've got so much to give and I'm so fit.
"I've come back from the World Cup and I'm just raring to go. I don't want to rush into anything that I don't believe will be right for me now.
"I'm just taking my time and want to make the right decision. I'm ready to play football again now. I can't wait."
