Roberto Mancini has confirmed Pablo Zabaleta will miss Manchester City's Premier League clash at home to Newcastle on Sunday.
The Argentina defender suffered a hamstring strain during Thursday night's Europa League clash with Juventus and was taken off at half-time in the 1-1 draw at Eastlands.
And although Mancini doubts Zabaleta will be facing a lengthy lay-off, the City boss has already ruled him out for the visit of Newcastle.
"It is a hamstring," he said. "I do not believe it is serious but he won't play on Sunday."
That will force Mancini into another change at left-back having already seen Wayne Bridge, Aleksandar Kolarov and Joleon Lescott play there and be ruled out through injury this season.
