Rangers manager Walter Smith hopes that star striker Kenny Miller will soon sign a new contract.
The 30-year-old's current deal expires at the end of the season, but talks have been taking place regarding an extension.
Smith said earlier in September that he hoped Rangers would reach an agreement with the in-form forward, who inspired Sunday's SPL fight-back against Aberdeen.
Negotiations have been delayed by the absence of Martin Bain, but it is hoped that progress will be made now that Rangers' chief executive has returned to the club.
Smith said in the Daily Record: "Kenny is doing very well. The club have been speaking to him, although Martin Bain has been away all week.
"We have been talking to his agent for a while and hopefully they will get something sorted at one stage or another."
