Leeds have completed the loan signing of Northern Ireland international defender George McCartney from Sunderland.
Black Cats boss Steve Bruce confirmed on Wednesday that talks were ongoing between the two clubs and they have now reached an agreement.
McCartney will spend the next month at Elland Road after finding his opportunities limited on Wearside.
The 29-year-old suffered knee ligament damage during a pre-season match in Portugal and is yet to feature for the Stadium of Light club this term.
Left-back McCartney, who has 34 senior international caps, began his career on Wearside before moving to West Ham in August 2006.
He returned to Sunderland under Roy Keane in September 2008, but injuries have limited his participation in recent months.
And with Kieran Richardson having made the move back from midfield to the left side of defence, Bruce sees a temporary exit as an opportunity for McCartney to build up his match fitness.
