Sebastien Bassong has called on Tottenham to bounce back from the disappointment of Tuesday's defeat to Arsenal.
Spurs were beaten 4-1 by their North London rivals after extra-time to leave their Carling Cup dreams in tatters for another year.
Bassong was made captain for the night as Harry Redknapp fielded a much-changed side, and admits it was a difficult loss to take.
However, he recognises that Tottenham's priorities lie elsewhere this season and is already looking forward to Saturday's Premier League game against West Ham.
"We are professionals, so we need to focus on the game at West Ham," said the Cameroon international.
"I don't think it will affect us as we have a strong squad, and we will be all right."
Bassong added: "The main thing for us is the league, and as professionals we want to do well in every competition.
"It is still a bad thing to be out already, so early, but I think we need to bounce back.
"The fans are right to be a bit disappointed, we were at home and it was a derby - but the next home game is the Champions League (against FC Twente) and it is a bigger game."
