Wigan boss Roberto Martinez has hailed the attitude of Charles N'Zogbia following a summer of uncertainty over his future.
The French winger was heavily linked with a move away from the DW Stadium during the transfer window, with a host of clubs targeting his signature.
N'Zogbia appeared poised for a switch to Birmingham at one stage until the deal fell through at the last minute.
Martinez is glad the 24-year-old can now put the unsettling transfer speculation behind him, and insists the winger is fully focused on giving his all for the Latics this season.
"Since that situation happened and the window closed Charles has been focused, his attitude has been superb," Martinez told Sky Sports News.
"His attitude has been exactly what we hoped for and I think the players realise that and the fans will realise that very soon.
"All he's thinking about is being able to help his team-mates and to win football games for Wigan Athletic.
"It's quite clear that he's ready to do that this season."
Martinez also highlighted the damage that can be done by other clubs unsettling players during the transfer period, and feels the window should close before the Premier League campaign gets underway to allow players to focus solely on their clubs.
He added: "I think he (N'Zogbia) is a clear example of the unsettling period of the window and I think everyone, the authorities, should look into that period and help the players a little bit more and make sure we close the window before the first league game."
N'Zogbia won his first cap for France last month in a friendly against Norway, and Martinez has been impressed with his progression.
"We all have to remember that he had an amazing level of performance last campaign," he said.
"Now he's focused on reproducing that and even improving that.
"He's well capable, he's only 24, he's got into a national team and he's in a fantastic moment of his career."
