Dutch coach Bert van Marwijk has confirmed that he is looking to call up Brazilian-born Douglas to his squad.
The FC Twente central defender has impressed hugely since moving to Holland in 2007.
He is now set to get a Dutch passport and is ready to pledge his international allegiance to the Oranje.
And van Marwijk has confirmed that he intends to hold talks with Douglas.
"We have already been working on it, but we had to know that Douglas would go for a Dutch passport," Van Marwijk told De Telegraaf.
"The signal from Douglas was so strong that we contact him for a meeting next week."
Douglas was linked to the likes of Arsenal, Ajax and PSV Eindhoven earlier this summer.
