Bolton have appealed to the Football Association over Gary Cahill's sending off against Arsenal.
Cahill was controversially shown a straight red card by referee Stuart Attwell for a challenge from behind on Marouane Chamakh at Emirates Stadium.
The decision infuriated Bolton players and Trotters boss Owen Coyle as his side ended up losing 4-1 to the Gunners.
Coyle revealed after the game he was considering attempting to overturn the decision and the club have now decided to lodge an appeal.
As it stands, Cahill is line to miss next weekend's game with Aston Villa, the home clash with Manchester United and the Carling Cup tie against Burnley.
