Franco Di Santo is straining at the leash and admits he cannot wait to make his bow for new employers Wigan.
The Argentine striker moved to the DW Stadium from Chelsea over the summer, having found opportunities difficult to come by with the Blues.
He is hoping to make an instant impact with the Latics and repay the faith shown in him by boss Roberto Martinez.
The 21-year-old is also looking forward to playing alongside fellow countryman Mauro Boselli, who was drafted in during the transfer window to provide another attacking option.
"Mauro is one of the best players in Argentina at the moment, and so I would love to play with him and learn from all of his experience," Di Santo told the club's official website.
"Having so many Spanish speakers at the club has really helped me to settle in and feel at home very quickly.
"I am now very keen to get my first start for Wigan Athletic, and I will be ready on Saturday if the manager decides to play me."
Wigan's next Premier League fixture sees them entertain Sunderland, when they will be looking to build on the shock victory they picked up away at Tottenham last time out.
