Coventry striker Lukas Jutkiewicz has claimed that the arrivals of Danny Ward and Marlon King will provide good competition at the club.
The Sky Blues are expected to bring in Ward from Bolton on loan once he has signed a long-term contract with the Trotters, whilst King has been training with the squad after his release from prison.
Their imminent arrivals now leave a strong fight for places on at the Ricoh Arena, with Freddy Eastwood also among the ranks in the forward lines already.
However, Jutkiewicz, who signed from Everton this summer, believed that the strengthening of the ranks will only boost their campaign after a decent start to the season.
"It's great to have competition and someone on your heels in training pushing you," Jutkiewicz, who is close to recovering from a knee injury, told the Coventry Telegraph,
"Marlon is a top quality striker and I am sure he will be great for us when he gets up to full fitness.
"The manager is not bringing in players to make up the numbers, he wants top quality to improve the team.
"I just need to get my head down and work hard this week.
"I have not trained for a couple of weeks so I am sure I will be doing a bit of work with the fitness coach to get me back up to speed and ready for the weekend."
