Roma are determined to keep hold of unsettled defender Philippe Mexes by tying him down to a new deal.
Mexes revealed earlier this week he was unsure if he would sign the new deal on offer from Roma as he wants to be playing regularly at this stage of his career.
However, Roma director Bruno Conti insists the club will do all they can to persuade Mexes to stay put.
"Philippe is a great person and we have already discussed his contract renewal a couple of times, but he said he wants to wait," said Conti.
"Let it be clear we have no intention of losing the player, as we consider him to be a crucial element of the squad.
"Daniele Pradè calls his agent every day to find an agreement. We'll meet up again over the next few days."
