Crystal Palace manager George Burley has expressed his relief at holding on to Julian Speroni after last interest in the goalkeeper.
Fulham are understood to have made a bid for the Argentine on deadline day as Cottagers No.1 Mark Schwarzer was linked with a switch to Arsenal.
Neither man ended up moving and Burley is delighted the speculation regarding Speroni is at an end, at least until January.
Speroni has earned rave reviews for his performances at Selhurst Park in recent years and Burley is not surprised there was attention from other clubs.
"There was an interest but nothing materialised," Burley told the South London Press.
"We've managed to keep hold of Julian, certainly until January at least, which is great.
"He has proven himself to be a fantastic keeper over a number of years and I'm very pleased he's still at the club."
