Nigeria defender Danny Shittu has departed Bolton Wanderers with immediate effect.
The 29-year-old arrived at the Reebok Stadium two years ago from Watford and notched up 12 appearances for the Trotters.
The club have now reached an agreement with the powerful stopper to release him from his current deal.
The Trotters announced the exit on their official website, adding that Shittu leaves with "the club's best wishes".
Shittu began his career at Charlton Athletic in 1999 and has since spent time at Queens Park Rangers and on-loan at Blackpool.
