Striker seals permanent switch

Blackpool's persistence has paid off, with DJ Campbell having returned to the club on deadline day. The striker, who the Seasiders have been chasing all summer, has been snapped up from Leicester City for an undisclosed fee. Campbell played a leading role in Blackpool's promotion-winning campaign last term while on loan from the Foxes. His efforts did not go unnoticed and Ian Holloway has been desperate to bring the 28-year-old back to Bloomfield Road. It appeared at one stage as though a deal was dead, with Campbell having started the new season in Leicester's first team.

Delighted

However, an agreement has now been reached and the former Brentford and Birmingham man has penned a two-year contract with the Seasiders. "I'm over the moon, I'm delighted," Campbell told the club's official website. "It feels like I've got unfinished business, everyone knows how much I love Blackpool. "I wanted to come back and I'm just delighted that it's been made possible."
