Barcelona midfielder Seydou Keita has signed a new contract that will keep him at the Camp Nou until 2014.
The Mali international joined the Catalan giants in 2008 from Sevilla in a 14million euros deal and has become a versatile member of their squad in a glorious period under manager Pep Guardiola.
The 30-year-old's current deal was set to run until 2012, but the new contract will now automatically renew depending on appearances for the club.
His midfield role will now receive further challenge from the acquisition of Argentina captain Javier Mascherano, but his ability to play at full-back gives the Primera Liga holders added options.
Keita has played 59 games in his two years at the club, scoring 10 goals.
"I'm starting my third year here and have already won everything but I want to continue to win more," Keita told the club's official website.
