Wolfsburg midfielder Zvjezdan Misimovic is poised to make a £6.5million switch to Turkish club Galatasaray.
Reports in German newspaper Bild on Tuesday claimed the Bosnia international had flown to Turkey to put the finishing touches to the deal.
The 28-year-old has been linked with a move away from the Volkswagen Arena all summer, and the German club finally agreed to negotiate a transfer following the arrival of midfielder Diego from Juventus.
Misimovic, whose contract is valid until June 2013, was understood to be targeting a reunion with former Wolfsburg manager Felix Magath at Schalke.
But Wolfsburg managing director Dieter Hoeness recently told Sky Deutschland television that the club would not consider letting the midfielder go to a rival Bundesliga outfit.
"We are not going to sell Zvjezdan Misimovic to a club from the Bundesliga, this is a fact," said Hoeness.
"We would be working on a deal with a foreign club, if the terms are right."
