Cillian Sheridan has been called up to the Republic of Ireland squad ahead of next month's Euro 2012 qualifiers.

The CSKA Sofia striker had initially been left out of Giovanni Trapattoni's 25-man squad but has now been drafted in.

Trapattoni's assistant, Marco Tardelli, named the provisional squad last week which will now include the former Celtic star.

Ireland will play their first qualifying game on 3rd September against Armenia in Yerevan before travelling back to Dublin to play Andorra.
