Barnsley boss Mark Robins has said he is yet to receive an offer for striker Iain Hume.
The 26-year-old has become available on loan after being told there is no guarantee of regular football with the Tykes.
Preston have emerged as likely contenders for his signature, while Robins has revealed he has held talks with other clubs but is yet to receive a genuine offer.
The Tykes boss insists that, regardless of any approach, a deal will only be done if it suits both club and player.
"I have had a conversation or two with clubs about Iain Hume but so far nothing has happened," Robins told the club's official website.
"We will not rush into anything until something happens that is right for all parties.
"If it doesn't then Iain will stay with us and continue to work very hard."
