Lyon have confirmed a deal has been agreed to sign highly-rated playmaker Yoann Gourcuff from Ligue 1 rivals Bordeaux.
The 24-year-old has been a long-term target for Lyon, who expressed confidence last month that Gourcuff wanted to move to Stade Gerland.
Bordeaux had been determined to hang on to the skilful schemer, but have now accepted an offer from Lyon.
Les Gones have revealed that a total of €22million (£18million) will be paid to Bordeaux in three instalments before the end of December 2012.
A further amount of up to €4.5million (£3.7million) will also be on its way to Bordeaux should Lyon sell the player in the future.
Gourcuff will sign a long-term contract with Claude Puel's side later this week on the proviso he comes through a medical.
Arsenal and Manchester City had previously been linked with a player who has long been labelled as France's heir to Zinedine Zidane, only to disappoint at the World Cup finals in South Africa.
