Ipswich striker poised for Bristol City switch
Bristol City are hoping to finalise a move for Ipswich striker Jon Stead by Monday.
Skysports.com reported earlier this week that the forward was back in talks with City over a switch to Ashton Gate.
And following Saturday's 3-3 draw with Barnsley, City manager Keith Millen confirmed 27-year-old Stead could make the move early next week.
Stead, who joined Town from Sheffield United two years ago, featured in their 2-1 win over Crystal Palace on Saturday, but appears poised for a move to the West Country.
"He's someone we've been looking to sign for a while and it looks like we are close now," Millen told City's official website.
"We hope to conclude a deal early next week."
Ipswich boss Roy Keane also confirmed in his post-match interview that Stead could link up with City on Monday.
