Skysports.com understands Middlesbrough are lining up a move for former England goalkeeper Richard Wright.
Boro boss Gordon Strachan is keen to bring in a new shot-stopper after sanctioning the sale of Brad Jones to Liverpool.
Strachan has been linked with a number of keepers as he looks to provide competition and cover for Danny Coyne
Boro have also been credited an interest in Crystal Palace's Julian Speroni and Hamilton ace Tomas Cerny and it appears Wright is the latest name on his radar.
Wright is available on a free transfer after leaving Ipswich at the end of last season.
The 32-year-old has been training with Palace in recent weeks but Strachan could now offer him the chance to win a move to the Riverside.
