Samir Nasri is to undergo a knee operation which will keep the Arsenal midfielder sidelined for the next month.
The France international picked up the problem during Arsenal's 1-1 draw at Liverpool on Sunday in the club's opening Premier League game of the season.
The 23-year-old was able to complete the full 90 minutes at Anfield, but will now be missing from the Gunners' plans until the end of September.
A club statement read: "Arsenal midfielder Samir Nasri will today undergo minor surgery on his knee following a meniscal injury sustained during the match against Liverpool on Sunday.
"Nasri, who has been in impressive form, will be out of action for a month."
The injury will further weaken Arsene Wenger's midfield options ahead of Saturday's game at home to Blackpool, with captain Cesc Fabregas' availability uncertain.
