Sky Sports sources understand Blackpool have made an initial offer of £400,000 for Bournemouth striker Brett Pitman.
Blackpool boss Ian Holloway brought in a flurry of new signings last week and was rewarded with a stunning opening Premier League victory at Wigan Athletic.
However, after a previously quiet summer in the transfer market, Holloway remains determined to improve his squad before the window closes in a fortnight's time.
He has now lined up a move for Pitman, who has impressed in the lower divisions for Bournemouth in recent seasons.
The 22-year-old fired a hat-trick against Peterborough United at the weekend and has previously been a target for the London Road club.
Pitman could now be offered a move to the top flight after the Seasiders lodged an initial bid of £400,000 which could rise to £600,000.
