Millwall have extended the loan deal of Preston North End midfielder Darren Carter through to January.
Carter initially linked up with the Lions on a three-month deal at the start of August, but will now see out the first half of the season at The Den.
The 26-year-old is on the transfer list at Preston and had trained with Southampton prior to joining Millwall on loan.
He was sent off on his debut against Bristol City, but appeared as a substitute in Saturday's 4-0 thrashing of Hull City.
Carter started his career at Birmingham City and had stints with Sunderland and West Brom before joining Preston three years ago.
