The Senegalese striker has penned a three-contract upon his arrival in Istanbul and moves for an undisclosed fee.

The move brings to an end Niang's five-year association with French outfit Marseille.

He admits he found it tough to bid farewell to the reigning Ligue 1 champions but feels he needed to take on a new challenge.

"My transfer was hard for both clubs but we finally reached an agreement," said Niang, after seeing the issue drag on for much of the summer.

"I have made a career choice. Now I want to do everything for Fenerbahce."

Niang is now set to link up with his international colleague Issiar Dia, who joined Fenerbahce from Nancy in July.
