Northern Ireland boss Nigel Worthington has revealed that he is trying to convince Connor Wickham to play for his side.
The 17-year-old Ipswich Town striker helped the England Under-17s to the European Championship title earlier this summer but qualifies for Northern Ireland through his father.
Worthington is keen to secure his future at international level as the former Norwich manager looks to plan for the future.
"The question has been asked about Connor Wickham," he said.
"There's potential there, we have done our homework and offered him the opportunity to further his international career with Northern Ireland.
"Hopefully, he will follow young Oliver Norwood from Manchester United and throw in his lot with a squad he can help go places."
Wickham burst onto the scene for the Tractor Boys last year but he is currently out of action with a foot injury.
