Jackman injury blow for Gills

Gillingham midfielder Danny Jackman may require surgery to cure his knee problem, which has flared up.

Jackman is yet to feature this season and was left out at Hereford on Saturday after scans revealed damage to his knee. Boss Andy Hessenthaler told the Kent Messenger: "Unfortunately he might have to have an operation, which is a bit of a blow. "He's been having a bit of a problem with his knee in pre-season and it seems to have got worse. "The scans show he may have a bit of floating cartilage in the knee and it will probably need a bit of key-hole surgery."
