Man Utd midfielder hungry for success

Michael Carrick has admitted he is 'more determined than ever' to succeed this season after a difficult 2009/10 campaign. Manchester United lost their Premier League title to Chelsea last term, while Carrick then missed out on a place in the England World Cup squad. The midfielder is now looking to make amends by helping United reclaim top spot in the Premier League. Carrick has been at Old Trafford since joining from Tottenham in 2006 and is driven by the fear of going too long without a trophy.

Determined

"Last season was disappointing and I ended up having a hard summer," he said ahead of Monday's clash with Newcastle. "But this is my fifth season and during that time I have gained a lot of experience. "I am more determined than ever. When you don't get what you want, it hurts. You want it again badly. "I am hungry for success, just as I was when I first came here."
