Scottish Premier League champions Rangers have signed striker James Beattie from Stoke.
Beattie had been told by Potters boss Tony Pulis he was free to leave the Britannia Stadium ahead of the new campaign.
The 32-year-old travelled to Glasgow on Thursday for talks with Rangers manager Walter Smith and the two parties have since agreed a deal.
The Ibrox club called a press conference on Friday afternoon to unveil their new capture, who plied his trade at Blackburn, Southampton, Everton and Sheffield United before his move to Stoke.
Beattie fell out favour with Pulis last season following a dressing bust-up in December, leaving his future in doubt.
And the arrival of Kenwyne Jones for a club record £8million fee only added to the inevitability of the former England man's departure.
