Inter Milan star Maicon is hoping to win a new deal at the club after they blocked a move to Real Madrid.

Inter supremo Massimo Moratti ruled out a move to the Spanish capital for the Brazil international after a protracted transfer chase by Real.

Maicon's agent, Antonio Caliendo, feels his client deserves a new deal at the Giuseppe Meazza as reward for his loyalty to the cause.

"I have just spoken to the player," Caliendo told Ansa.

"He said to me: 'After five Scudetti, Moratti has noticed he has a real champion under his own roof.'

"I think Inter ought to show a little recognition to a player like Maicon.

"Judging by Moratti's comments I'd say there will be a new deal," added the agent.

"Now I expect he'll want to say it to Maicon in person."
