Former Chelsea midfielder Deco has revealed it is a 'dream' to return to Brazil with Fluminense.
The former Porto star had slipped down The Blues' pecking order last term and was keen to move on.
Deco has spent the past 13 years of his career in European football and even opted to represent Portugal.
The playmaker has thanked Fluminense in their patience for his signature and he is now eager to repay the league leaders.
"I owed myself this, it was a big dream to be able to return to Brazilian football after 13 years," explained the 32-year-old.
"There were big difficulties getting released from my contract with Chelsea but I thank Fluminense for keeping the door open and making the effort to bring me back.
"I will certainly pay that back with a lot of effort on the pitch to win titles.
"I was lucky to join the leaders and I'm happy to be at a very good club ... with a fantastic coach (Muricy Ramalho) who is a big name in Brazilian football."
