Tottenham assistant manager Joe Jordan has hinted Robbie Keane will be staying at White Hart Lane this season.
Keane's future at Spurs has been the subject of intense speculation for some time after he spent the second half of last season on loan at Celtic.
It has been suggested Harry Redknapp could cash-in on Keane in a bid to raise funds for his own transfer plans.
However, Jordan admits Keane has impressed since returning to the club from Celtic and that he remains an important player.
"He's been out best player in pre-season and he scored two at the weekend there [against Fiorentina]," admitted Jordan.
"He has come back in good nick and he has been involved in every single game.
"He has played terrific and at the moment he is in the team."
Jordan added: "When we took over under Harry Redknapp we were in big trouble, we had two points from eight games and he made a number of signings.
"He brought Robbie back and Robbie was a fantastic signing and we stayed up and we have built from that and he was part of that.
"He's been so important not just on the field, but in the dressing room as well. He's been a big player for us."
