Barnsley have bolstered their defence with the loan signing of Manchester City full-back Kieran Trippier.
The highly-rated 19-year-old impressed in three matches on loan at Oakwell last season and Barnsley boss Mark Robins has brought him in again until January, with a view to extending the deal.
The teenager is Robins' eighth summer signing but was ineligible to play in the opening clash with QPR as the Tykes were waiting for his paperwork to be registered.
Robins told the club's official website: "Kieran is a very highly-rated right-back and our supporters saw glimpses of that during his time here last season.
"He is an England U-19 international and I am very pleased to have brought him back to the club."
