Keane eyes Latics forward

Skysports.com understands Ipswich are lining up a move for Wigan striker Jason Scotland. Town boss Roy Keane revealed earlier this week that he was close to landing a mystery striker and it appears Scotland is his target. Keane is in the market for striking reinforcements with Connor Wickham currently on the sidelines through injury and doubts surrounding the future of Jon Walters. Scotland is a proven striker in the Championship having impressed during his time at Swansea prior to his move to Wigan last summer. The Trinidad & Tobago international has struggled to make an impact at Wigan, scoring just two goals in 36 games last season and the Latics are believed to be ready to listen to offers for the 31-year-old. The summer signing of Mauro Boselli has pushed Scotland further down the pecking order at the DW Stadium and the former St Johnstone man is now considering moving on in search of regular first-team action. Scotland, who has one year left on his contract at Wigan, is thought to be thinking over the move to Portman Road.
