Third offer from Charlton snubbed for striker

Skysports.com understands Dagenham & Redbridge have rejected a third bid from Charlton for Paul Benson. As revealed by skysports.com last week Dagenham had already turned down two bids from Charlton for the prolific striker. Charlton boss Phil Parkinson is determined to bolster his attack and he has targeted a move for Benson. After seeing their initial two offers rejected for the 30-year-old the Addicks are believed to have back with a third improved bid. However, Dagenham have again rejected the bid as they look to keep hold of Benson as they prepare for life in League One. Benson is thought to be considering his options as moving to Charlton would possibly offer him his last chance to play at a big club, but he feels he owes Daggers boss John Still a lot for taking a chance on him by snapping him from the Essex Olympian League.
