Bayer Leverkusen defender Gonzalo Castro has signed a new deal to keep him at the club.
The Germany international has established himself as a key member of the Bayer squad in recent seasons, making 149 Bundesliga appearances for Leverkusen, scoring seven goals.
The new deal will keep Castro at the BayArena until 2014 and Bayer sporting director Rudi Voller was delighted to tie down the 23-year-old to a new long-term deal.
"Gonzalo Castro is an important part of our future," said Voller.
"We're very glad that we can keep him on this long-term deal."
