Reported Kaiserslautern target Markus Rosenberg has announced that he wants to stay with Werder Bremen.
Marco Kurz's Kaiserslautern have been linked with the Sweden international as they look for added firepower following their return to the Bundesliga.
Last season's Bundesliga 2 champions, along with Paris St Germain and Monaco, were thought to be in contention to sign Rosenberg, who has only one year left on his deal with Werder.
But while the 27-year-old is unhappy about his contract predicament, he is not seeking a route out of Weserstadion before the new league season starts on 21st August.
Interest
Rosenberg told
Kreiszeitung Syke: "I am aware of my situation, I could be working on a move away from the club.
"But I would only leave for a good club in a top-class league. Actually, I am planning to stay.
"Should there be any interest in me from other clubs, (Werder Bremen general manager) Klaus Allofs and (agent) Martin Dahlin will be discussing this and I will also have a look at it."
Allofs said: "Markus would have no problem playing first-team football at almost any club in the Bundesliga.
"I think about two thirds of the Bundesliga would be happy to have him as a player. He has a contract left at Werder Bremen"
