Bryan Hughes is set to link up with League One side Huddersfield Town, skysports.com understands.
The 34-year-old spent last season with Hull City in the Premier League, but is now a free agent after leaving the KC Stadium when his contract expired earlier this summer.
Hughes has attracted attention from a number of clubs and trained with Cardiff City earlier this month.
Now he is set to spend time with Huddersfield, with a view to sealing a permanent move to the Galpharm Stadium.
Hughes has already played in a behind-closed doors game for the Terriers and is set to train over the next week with Lee Clark's men on the eve of the new Football League season.
