Dutch full-back starts friendly against Sunderland

Leicester City have handed former PSV Eindhoven defender Michael Lamey the chance to earn a contract at the Walkers Stadium. Lamey is on the look-out for a new club after Arminia Bielefeld were relegated from the German Bundesliga at the end of last season. He has been invited to train with Leicester and was given a starting role in the club's final pre-season friendly against Sunderland on Saturday. The 30-year-old spent several seasons with PSV before leaving for Duisburg in 2007 and then moving on to Bielefeld 12 months later. Foxes boss Paulo Sousa remains keen to improve his squad ahead of next weekend's opening Championship game at Crystal Palace and will decide if Lamey is worth a deal.
