AC Milan have been handed a boost with the news that Ronaldinho will only be out of action for one week.

The Brazilian trickster suffered a hamstring injury in training on Wednesday and first fears suggested he could be sidelined for around a month.

But tests have found the problem is less serious than first though and that the 30-year-old will not be out for long.

"AC Milan can announce that Ronaldinho suffered a left hamstring strain," the club said in a statement.

"The player will not be available for the Emirates Cup matches and will miss around seven days."

Ronaldinho has recently committed his future to Milan after another summer of speculation.

The Rossoneri will now expect him to be fit for their opening Serie A match at home to Lecce on 29th August.
