Spurs starlet eager for chance to shine

Tottenham starlet John Bostock believes the heavy influx of foreign signings is stifling and hindering youngster's opportunities. The 18-year-old was being linked with the likes of Chelsea and Barcelona before moving to White Hart Lane in 2008. However, he has barely featured under Harry Redknapp after winning just 25 minutes of playing time in two seasons. Bostock is eager to play for Spurs, but feels the number of foreigners standing in his way is blocking his progress. New Premier League rules mean clubs have to register eight homegrown players in a 25-man squad, but Bostock remains unconvinced.

Foreigners

"You look at the foreign contingent over here and it's blocking us," he said. "It's frustrating. It's hard when you have not been given that chance. "I'm not sure about that. Clubs are spending millions on foreigners and still want to play them. "It's hard because we might have to wait until we are 21 or 22. "I just want to play. The dream is to play for Tottenham, but I want to play."
